Director's Letter

Sensory Perceptions continues to grow and it's another great year here. Our Community Seen, The 4th Annual LGBT Film Festival promises to be our best and most ambitious festival to date, with an incredible array of LGBT films packed into 6 short days at Cinema 21.

We've prepared a collection of films that showcase, represent and define our community. From Opening Night's modern American family drama, "What's Cooking?" to the elegant German love story "Aimee and Jaguar" and around the corner to the insightful documentaries "Gendernauts" and the relevant and crucial screening of the 1995 "Ballot Measure 9," down the path all the way to the hilarious Margaret Cho film "I'm the One that I Want" on closing night, we have films for every taste. This year's festival is, indeed, our community seen.

With so many options these days for entertainment, it can be hard to know where to turn. From DVD's to streaming video, and digital imaging to prime time, the options are practically endless. I am quite pleased to announce that, yes, Sensory Perceptions has catapulted onto the bandwagon with our very own membership program. Now there's no need to concern yourself with time consuming visual decisions, what with our year round screenings and special events, your entertainment needs will always be under control...our control. Join us- for the email announcements, the hot-off-the-press bulletins about queer cinema, the chance to buy your tickets in advance, that is, if you even have to buy them at all, and for the opportunity to see movies before their opening dates! So surrender, you know you want to, and sign up for a Sensory Perceptions Membership! I hope you enjoy the festival. There's a whole lot more where it came from.
