Party Monster

Friday, October 17, 7:00 PM
Cinema 21

Starring: Macaulay Culkin, Seth Green, Chloë Sevigny, Natasha Lyonne, Wilson Cruz, Wilmer Valderrama, Dylan McDermott, Marilyn Manson, Diana Scarwid, John Stamos

A true story based on the book "Disco Bloodbath," PARTY MONSTER tells of the rise and fall of Michael Alig (Macaulay Culkin), a kid from middle America who comes to New York in the early 90’s to be fabulous and becomes the #1 party promoter in New York City. When Michael arrives in New York he quickly attaches himself to James St. James (author of "Disco Bloodbath"), played by Seth Green like you’ve never seen him! James is the sassy, flamboyant queen of the club scene in New York and Michael convinces him to take him under his wing. But it’s not long before Michael usurps his teacher and becomes the belle of every party and starts his own scene called “Club Kids” made up of other bullied and disenfranchised youth. As they delve deeper and deeper in drugs and decadence, their world starts to crumble until tragedy puts and end to it all. PARTY MONSTER has a supporting cast of some of the most interesting actors working today including Dylan McDermott, Wilmer Valderrama ("That 70s Show"), Chloe Sevigny (BOYS DON'T CRY), Natasha Lyonne (AMERICAN PIE), Mia Kirshner, and Wilson Cruz ("My So-Called Life"). Watch for an unrecognizable Marilyn Manson in a hysterical performance as the giddy, off-her-rocker, transvestite, Christina.
