Students Paul, Bernhard, and
Louis-Arnault are children of France’s most privileged and powerful
families. They’ve been afforded every opportunity and have had
doors opened for them all their lives. And now they are attending a
prestigious business school
where they will be trained to
become the nation’s leaders.
But away from home, things
get more complicated as the young students encounter issues with class, race,
and sexuality. Paul finds himself attracted to his uber-rich, confident,
and sexy roommate Louis in what amounts to a mix of jealousy and frustration.
Not able to attain the object of his lust, he settles for a young working-class
Arab man who has been pursuing him. Meanwhile, Paul’s girlfriend
has noticed his attraction to Louis and initiates a contest to see which
of the two can bed Louis first.
The
three friends become entangled in emotional and sexual power games with
their yearnings for attractive young men, various girlfriends, and, most
significantly, the relationship between Paul and his Arab worker. Grand
Ecole is a sensual and riveting tale of the relationships
between power, sexuality, class, and race.
